The Gift of God...!

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. (John 1:17)

 

 

     God has a time for everything but He also links a person to that time and purpose.  The laws of the universe were established by the Word of God.  He uses principles to govern His purpose. 

 

     God used Moses to present His laws to man. The law’s purpose was to show man what God expected.  When the purpose of the law was fulfilled, God sent Jesus to redeem man from the very laws He had created.  God knew man could not live up to those laws.  God never intended for man to live without Him.

 

     The time came for Jesus to show man God’s way to live.  Remember Jesus did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill them.  The laws required work.  Jesus came and fulfilled those laws.  He performed all that the laws required.  Because of what Jesus accomplished, the unmerited favor of God could now govern man’s life. 

 

     I have labored for many things in my life.  I have set goals, placed pictures strategically around me to remind me of those aspirations only to have a doorbell ring in the early morning hours destroy all those dreams and goals. 

 

     Salvation is about more than going to heaven for me.  I need help here on earth.  I need help with my finances, health, attitude and relationships.  Daily I battle with my thought life.  I need what only Jesus has been able to give me.  His grace sustains me while His truth keeps me from making the decisions I would regret.    

 

     I believe the power of grace and truth is enough for me or anyone who dares to trust in God.  There is a rest in knowing “My grace is sufficient for thee…” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
