GARDEN...
And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed (Genesis 2.8 KJV.)
When I read this scripture, I began to visualize my own garden. I finally was living in a house with gardening potential yet all I have been able to accomplish is to put a border around the front garden area. The garden itself was becoming overgrown with weeds. The lovely bulb flowers had already bloomed and their leaves were now turning brown from the hot afternoon sun. The rose bush was looking like a rose tree and the shrubbery was anything but shapely.
As I thought about the Garden of Eden that God created especially for mankind, I realized it was the first gift of God to man. I do not even think God intended man to take care of the garden, only to enjoy the fruit of God’s hands. God must take great pleasure in providing for mankind.
As I meditated on the care God wants to provide for my life, I wondered how I can look past the disobedience that entered in that Garden resulting in man having to provide by the work of his our hands, until I remembered what Jesus accomplished.
Jesus has become the place (the way), the understanding (truth) and the Garden God has provided for me…the Gift of LIFE:
